ON-SITE WORKSHOP AND GOLDSMITH WITH SMO (SINGLE MINE ORIGIN) GOLD
At Robert James Jewellery we have an on-site workshop on the premises at our Petts Wood location and we can undertake a range of work from small jewellery and chain repairs to designing and making bespoke engagement rings and wedding bands.
We work with a variety of different metals and promote the use of Single Mine Origin (SMO) gold. This is gold that has come from a single, responsibly run gold mine. A chain of custody is assured all along the supply route from mine to finished product and in this chain of custody every gram of gold is documents and audited. SMO gold means that it is guaranteed to be conflict free, it meets international standards of best practice and it offers protection for all workers. It also means there is minimal environmental impact and ensures that the local communities benefit from the gold mine. They do this by establishing employment opportunities, health projects and sanitation projects, alongside other community benefits.
